The senior technical seat on a growing engineering team, where you own full-stack feature delivery and have a real say in architecture, engineering standards and the technical decisions behind them. The stack is React and TypeScript on the front, Node.js and PostgreSQL behind it, all running serverless on AWS, with agentic AI workflows woven through the product.
It is a hands-on leadership role. You will still be building, and the harder engineering problems will land on your desk.
What you'll do
- Own full-stack feature delivery across React and TypeScript, Node.js on Lambda, and PostgreSQL
- Design and build agentic AI workflows: tool-calling pipelines, LLM-integrated automation and AI-assisted experiences
- Design and build event-driven, serverless architectures on AWS
- Reach for serverless containers when a workload is too heavy to run any other way
- Write and maintain infrastructure as code in SST, Pulumi, Terraform or CDK
- Make the architecture calls on data modelling, API contracts and asynchronous processing
- Drive code quality, observability and production readiness across the team
- Work with engineers and stakeholders to break down complex problems and carry them through to delivery
- Mentor engineers and hold the bar on engineering quality
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full-stack depth
- 3+ years hands-on with TypeScript, React and Node.js
- Strong React fundamentals: component composition, state management and performance
- Real experience building and running serverless or event-driven backends on AWS Lambda
- Hands-on PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimisation and migrations
- Infrastructure as code in SST, Pulumi, Terraform or CDK
- Experience working with LLM APIs or agentic frameworks
- A strong grasp of software architecture, API design and asynchronous processing
- A track record of driving technical decisions and setting engineering standards
- Clear written and verbal communication
Experience in SaaS, logistics, supply chain or freight technology is a strong plus.
Who tends to do well here
Engineers who take ownership and drive work from design into production. Who stay hands-on across the stack rather than moving away from the code. Who enjoy the complicated problems, are genuinely curious about building with AI, and lead by example on quality, reliability and the kind of maintainability that still matters two years later.
